We bought a small apartment by the sea and spent a long time thinking how to fit everything in. We wanted a proper bed, and space for our things, and for it not to feel cramped. We’d never have come up with this ourselves. Now I look at the apartment and can hardly believe so much fits in here.

I ordered a turnkey renovation and furnishing. I was in another country myself, so we sorted things out remotely. For the important points they sent photos and options for me to approve. That format worked for me, I had no way of coming to the site all the time.

It’s so nice to arrive on holiday and not have to finish anything 😍 The curtains are up, the dishes are in the cupboards, the bed is put together. Before, every trip started with a run around the shops. This time we finally went straight to the beach!

I didn’t really need any designer frills. The main thing was a convenient kitchen, enough sockets, good lighting and furniture that will last. That’s what we got. Special thanks for being fine with me wanting to keep the old dining table.

We were doing the house for ourselves, so we paid a lot of attention to everyday things. Where to keep the vacuum cleaner, where to put the drying rack, whether two people could use the kitchen comfortably. I’m glad we talked all that through before the work started. A nice-looking interior is great, but day to day you value convenience more.

What I was most afraid of was ending up with something “like everyone else’s”: a beige sofa, white walls and no mood at all. So I brought a whole folder of photos of things I like. Thank you for helping turn my scattered ideas into something that hangs together. My favourite spot now is the armchair by the window.

We were refreshing the apartment after several years of renting it out. I thought we’d have to change absolutely everything, but we managed to keep some of the furniture. We replaced the kitchen, lighting and textiles and repainted the walls. The apartment is much nicer now. Good that they first looked at what shape things were in, and only then suggested the scope of work.
